JSON / CSV / YAML Converter

Convert between JSON, CSV and YAML in your browser. JSON↔CSV both ways plus JSON↔YAML, instant and fully offline — your data never leaves the page.

Conversion is instant and fully client-side — nothing is uploaded. CSV ↔ JSON expects an array of flat objects. YAML support covers the common block subset (maps, sequences, scalars); flow style, anchors and inline comments are not parsed.

Three formats, one job

JSON is the lingua franca of APIs, CSV is what spreadsheets and analysts want, and YAML is how config files (CI pipelines, Kubernetes, app settings) are written. Most real work involves moving the same data between them — this tool does all four directions instantly.

Everything runs in your browser with no network request, so even sensitive data stays on your machine.

What converts to what

  • JSON → CSV: an array of objects becomes a header row plus data rows. Keys are unioned across all objects, values containing commas, quotes or newlines are safely quoted, and nested objects are JSON-stringified into the cell.
  • CSV → JSON: the first row is treated as headers; each later row becomes an object. Numeric-looking values are converted to numbers; quoted fields with embedded commas/newlines are handled per RFC 4180.
  • JSON ↔ YAML: nested objects, arrays and scalars round-trip through the common YAML block style with correct indentation and string quoting.

Good input, good output

For CSV conversion

Use a flat array of objects. Tabular formats can't represent deep nesting — flatten or stringify nested fields first if you need them as columns.

For YAML parsing

The parser supports the everyday block subset: mappings, sequences and scalars by indentation. Flow style ([a, b]), anchors and inline comments aren't parsed — keep config in standard block form.
